Organza Fabric Online: A Complete Guide

Organza does what few fabrics can: it holds a shape in the air. That crispness - a light starch-like body over a sheer ground - is why it shows up in festive skirts, sleeves, dupattas and layered ensembles season after season.
Silk organza vs polyester organza
Silk organza has a soft glow, a dry hand and a graceful fall; polyester organza is crisper, cheaper and holds an even sharper shape. Both are sheer. For occasion wear where photographs matter, silk organza reads richer; for volume and craft, polyester does the job.
What to check before you buy organza online
Confirm the fibre, the width and whether the piece is embroidered. Embroidered organza is usually sold with the embroidery worked across the width, so check the repeat size if you are planning placement motifs.
Because organza is sheer, decide up front whether you want a lining - a matching satin or crepe in the same shade makes the colour pop.
Handling and care
Organza creases sharply and can mark if pressed wet. Iron on low, on the reverse, over tissue paper. Dry-clean embroidered organza; hand-wash plain organza cold and hang to dry in shade.
Shop organza by the metre
Saroj Ensemble carries plain, printed and embroidered organza by the metre, dispatched across India. Buy fabric online, or visit any of our five Mumbai fabric stores to feel the crispness before you commit.
